THE CHALLENGE

Honey Badger designed and built the activation's hero moments: a live, fully functioning water fountain; a large-scale slide and staircase set inspired by The Princess Diaries; the arch salon area; a custom photo lab; and a Glee photo moment. Each environment was fabricated to bring its source material to life with the detail and finish guests would instantly recognize.

Two of the builds pushed well beyond standard scenic fabrication. The centerpiece fountain was a true working water feature, not a prop. With nothing off the shelf coming close to the client's render, our team custom-sculpted it from polycoated EPS foam, paired it with custom-fitted pool liners and a concealed pump system, and fully waterproofed the structure so it could run live on the show floor.

The slide and staircase set was equally demanding. Standing on an 8-foot elevated deck and destined for an outdoor, high-traffic mall environment, it required full structural engineering and a licensed PE sign-off, along with engineered truss, decking, ballast, and guardrail systems to satisfy venue and safety requirements all while preserving the whimsical, film-accurate look of the original set.

Adding to the complexity, the entire activation was installed overnight on a compressed timeline, and our team re-sourced a critical print package on the fly after a primary vendor was forced to close due to nearby evacuations all without missing the install date.
